Luis Landivar, the Writer-Director of Bushwick, says, The Bushwick movie teaser is top 5 in Latin America (Brazil, Venezuela, Colombia, Ecuador, Bolivia, Paraguay, Argentina, Dominican Republic and Peru) and reached top 5 in Australia too. We feel that as an ultra low budget independent film, we are well-positioned to land an international film distribution deal. We hope to leverage our existing resources and continue marketing Bushwick using a Web 2.0 platform ala Paranormal Activity. Maybe we can catch lightning in a bottle and sign a distribution deal before Bushwick hits the international film festival circuit.
Bushwick was shot on location in the industrial core of Bushwick, Brooklyn with an international film cast led by Brazilian Star, Diego Kelman Ajuz and Dominican-Venezuelan sensation, Yanillys Perez.
In addition to Bushwick, Yanillys Perez will be seen in Carlos the Jackal - A Film by Olivier Assayas alongside Latin Hearthrob, Edgar Ramirez. In a recent interview with the Latin-American Press, Yanillys Perez said, both films (Carlos the Jackal with Edgar Ramirez, Bushwick) are very artistic with good stories (Dan Franck and Olivier Assayas, Luis Landivar). They both have great casts (Edgar Ramirez, Diego Kelman Ajuz) and strong directors (Olivier Assayas, Luis Landivar).
Luis Landivar continues, We have concentrated most of our resources in Latin America and are continuing with our international film distribution strategy. We are one step closer to landing an international film distribution deal. Diego (Diego Kelman Ajuz who stars as Det. John Mejia) is in Brazil now promoting the independent film, Bushwick as we speak. It has always been our heart and mind's intention to premiere Bushwick at Cannes in May 2010.
Bushwick's international film cast also features Americans - Erika Robel, Harvey Kaufman, Andrea Leigh, and Matthew McCurty, Puerto Rican - Edgar Caraballo, German - Annabel Munro and Filipina actress - Jennifer Presno.
Bushwick has been featured by several media outlets including the New York Daily News, La Nacion Dominicana, The Brazilian Times, BushwickBK, Puerto Plata News, and on Time Warner Cable and on News 12 Cablevision Brooklyn.
